2 month anniversary

Well, its coming up on two months of not buying new this weekend. Overall its been pretty easy, but I’ve slipped up a couple of times. Mostly in regards to biking — some parts here & there, the Xtracycle. Also had one relapse to Target and bought a few kid’s books [...]

Bear with jar on head shot in busy town

Off the subject, but this is so sad:

A bear whose head was stuck in a plastic food jar was photographed near an entrance to Itasca State Park on July 22 by Adam Guy, a state park naturalist intern. The bear was shot and killed near Frazee on Saturday.

It Does Change You

Just returned from a 4th of July trip to Missouri. We stayed with friends on their 92 acre blueberry farm. Stopped at a junk store and scoped garage sales in search of backyard chairs and a small table for the yard.

I can say this shift of buying nothing new does change a mindset in so [...]

nothing much new

So I’ve coasting along. Its already July 10 – summer is flying by as always. Still hanging in there with the nothing new challenge. I need to get two house warming gifts and a baby gift. I should be able to come up with something handmade, but not feeling overly inspired at [...]

I’m waffling…

So.  I really, really want to be able to bring my dog to work with me again. He was our office dog but since I’ve been biking, he has been completely dejected.  I tried him in the kid’s Burly, but it was designed for kids and his head was smushed when he stood up.  He [...]
